The Gitzo GK1542-82QD Mountaineer Series 1 Carbon Fiber Tripod Kit offers top notch features including 'Carbon eXact' tubing, which utilizes 'High Modulus' carbon fiber in the lower leg sections, adding to their diameters and making the tripod more robust than previous models. The tripod has a load capacity of 22 lb. Additionally, it extends to a maximum height of 67.4", and folds down to 25.6" for transport. The center column can be removed for Ground Level Set, which enables the tripod to reach its lowest height of 10.4". Its 4-section legs are secured with twist locks that incorporate G-lock Ultra, which has an internal O-ring to prevent dust and particles from entering the leg system. A ballast hook on the center column allows you to add weight to increase the tripod's stability. The included GH1382QD Center Ball Head is an Arca-type compatible head that has a separate lock for the 360° panning and another to control the movement of the ball. A tungsten disulfide coating on the ball helps keep the movement smooth and minimizes stick-slip. A screw-knob lock tightens down on the included quick-release plate and a bubble level helps you maintain straight horizons in your images.
